As the result of the Center’s publicity campaign, the site made its way to numerous university resource pages, Wikipedia and college course management systems. The Center received a multitude of unsolicited messages from scholars on possible expansions to the project and suggestions for additional content. Additionally, the site went from 850 unique visitors to more than 6,000 between March 2008 and March 2009. It was estimated that the project would host approximately 70,000 visitors per year.

The Fall of the Wall...of Ignorance

Making the History of 1989 met its mission. The Center for History of New Media created a comprehensive and robust teaching tool designed to assist teachers and students to understand the vaunted “End of History.” It is an invaluable resource for understanding the monumental events of 1989.
