Ian Bird works with GMU maintenance staff to hang his map, created with found metal objects and discarded car body, "Lower 48," in the Research 1 computer lab.
When the Center first moved to Research 1, staff was divided among three unconnected office spaces on the 4th floor. In 2009, CHNM acquired the corner office space that had been occupied by a robot lab. With this new space, CHNM's staff could finally work in one contiguous office. Nicknamed the "robot room" for its former occupants, this large open area gave the Center enough space to have multiple group-work tables.
This photo was taken soon after the Center moved into the "robot room."
CHNM staff go to Washington D.C. to take pictures of memorials for an education project. They noticed George Mason near an overpass. He wasn't doing much, so they said hi.
